2008 GMC Acadia Seat Room and Comfort: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2009 4dr SUV 288-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Lots of head room for tall folks. Comfortable seats. Lots of knee room. see full GMC Acadia review
2009 4dr SUV 288-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Power seats have versatile adjustments. Thigh support is better than some compact SUVs that I compared. Tilt and telescoping steering wheel is flexible for driving position. see full GMC Acadia review
2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Since this is our family hauler, it needed to accommodate 5 people, with enough space between 3 kids to keep long trips bearable. Adults can sit comfortably in the third row. see full GMC Acadia review
2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
3rd row is big enough for adults, leg room & head room, comfortable bench seat; 2nd row captains chairs were an option that I chose; easy to get around 2nd row and into 3rd row. I believe the Acadia was 11" longer than the Toyota Highlander. see full GMC Acadia review
2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6

2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
There are very few SUVs that can seat 7 VERY comfortably that are not HUGE suburban type SUVs. We are very pleased that the 3rd row can truly seat 3 adults with no issues. I love that I can still load it up at Costco by folding the 3rd seat down! see full GMC Acadia review
2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Love how comfy it is-- heated seats, (though I would have loved the 2009 A/C seats on my 2008-- boo hoo!), all the controls-- love the music controls on the steering wheel. see full GMC Acadia review

2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6

2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6

Have taken this car on long trips, 14 hours of driving, multiple days in a row. The front seats are ok but not very comfortable. It's even tiring for the passenger. see full GMC Acadia review

YearBody/PowertrainComment
2009 4dr SUV 288-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The transmission downshifts on the slightest touch of the accelerator. Very annoying and jarring. see full GMC Acadia review
2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
The 6 cylinder engine and transmission combination leave this 5000 lb. vehicle sometimes feeling a little sluggish. You have to mash the accelerator to force a down shift. It does respond, but it requires a little more effort than it should. see full GMC Acadia review
2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6

2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
The vehicle has power and so far is very reliable. However, the transmission shifting seems to be tuned to improve gas mileage. That makes this vehicle very un-responsive when you want it to be responsive. When entering a freeway, when passing cars, or when driving agressively. Instead of shifting smoothly, you have to press the gas more and then it downshifts two or three gears, wasting more gas than is necessary. They screwed up on the tuning of this car. see full GMC Acadia review
2008 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Transmission still needs help. It has been optimized for fuel economy and runs at 70 at about 1700 RPM, the slightest incline and it drops down a gear, annoying to say the least. see full GMC Acadia review
2007 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
still hesitates and searches for gear though better after trans. flash see full GMC Acadia review
2007 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
We have had our the engine in our 07 Acadia dropped 4 times! Power chain belts, Sensors, Sensors, Sensors, leaks it has literally been one thing after the next. We now how a reduced power light, check engine and stabilitrak light on. see full GMC Acadia review
2007 4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6

Get up and go could be better - such is the price for fuel economy. It just needs more torque. see full GMC Acadia review
