Reviewed: 2006 Honda Pilot

4dr SUV 244-horsepower 3.5L V6 w/DoD 5-speed automatic FWD

Why the 2006 Honda Pilot?

Interior styling

Honda put most of the pieces in the right places and provided multiple cubby holes for stowing things - just right for a family and road trip car. Plus the fold down third row provides exactly the right passenger flexibility without getting in the way.

Powertrain performance

The engine and transmission work flawlessly together - with lots of power for a family car this size.

Driving position & visibility

Driving position is upright and all the windows make it easy to see what is around you.

Quietness

The engine is not intrusive and there is minimal wind noise for an SUV. Better tires would make it even better - Goodyear Intergrity is not a quality OEM tire.

Reliability & durability

The Pilot has had few problems after the first model year. Interestingly, ours has not held up as well as I would have expected.
