2009 Objectively, the brand shouldn't matter. But many potential buyers won't even consider the Genesis because it's a Hyundai. Hyundai itself has been forced to accept this, and with the 2017s (available starting in June or July) will make Genesis a separate brand. With this change, the Genesis sedan will become the Genesis G80. The Genesis badge still won't have the prestige of an Audi's four rings, much less a BMW roundel or Mercedes-Benz star, but it should prove less of a deal-killer. There still won't be separate Genesis dealerships, so the showroom ambiance and level of service still won't be those of a full luxury brand. see full Hyundai Genesis review

8-speed shiftable automatic RWD		 Our Austin area Hyundai dealership is not going convince anyone that they deal in luxury vehicles. While the dealership displays are comfortable and convenient, they are about a decade behind true luxury settings. And the service areas? Egads. Imagine a cross between urban Sears auto service and Walmart. Their service reps are a mixed bag: some quite professional and helpful, other not so much. I strongly suggest they take their service reps and go visit a Lexus dealer or at least an Acura dealer for a field trip. While they're at it, they should just steal some blueprints for design ideas. Hyundai vehicles are better than too many of the showrooms from which they are are sold. I liked the very straightforward sales process, and would willing see full Hyundai Genesis review

6-speed shiftable automatic RWD		 I wanted to be one of the people to form the bandwagon, not jump on it later. In the early 1990s, Toyota created a serious luxury competitor, and is now one of the top 3 luxury mfrs. 6-speed automated manual FWD		 It's been interesting to see the mixed reactions I get when people learn that I bought a VW. I'm known for my research-minded ways when it comes to big decisions, so I think the reliability (or lack thereof) reputation that Volkswagen has caused people to be surprised by my purchase. But for as many horror stories that I've read or heard, I've also heard from many owners who swear by and love their VWs and have had minor to no issues. Given how in love with my car I am after just one week...I get why VW owners love their cars (but, I'll admit, I still have my fingers crossed that I won't be plagued with too many quirks or issues). see full Volkswagen Jetta review
