I bought the car brand new, everything all over the car has failed and been replaced. I tried to have Hyundai take it back and they fought me for 2 and half years. I finally got a judgement for $2,500 in mediation and they were going to fight that. I liked the car, but the problem is how you are treated when there is a problem. And that?s a problem! Hyundai is just into selling cars, if they upset some people oh well. My response is there are too many other manufactures out there, stay away from Hyundai. I took my lumps and traded the car in last month and got rid of it.
The cars radio was replaced 4 times (the radio costs $3,500 I was told), the AC was repaired once, the radar was replaced and started to fail again, replaced the rack and pinion steering rack, the fuel pump was replaced and a fuel valve on the engine was replaced and it took them 8 months to figure out why the steering wheel would not drop into position when I got into the car. I have all of the receipts.
The other thing that was frustrating is that most of this stuff was intermittent and they wouldn?t do anything unless it was acting up when it was in the shop. I know that sound insensitive, but the radio was hard to get fixed. This was frustrating, the radio failed one morning on my way to work, frustrated I drove straight to the dealership to show them what I had been telling them. As soon as they saw it the guy responded that they know there is a problem, they just need to see it before Hyundai will pay them to fix it.
