2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh Why isn't fuel economy among the why-to-buys for the new Sonata Hybrid? Well, while fuel economy is certainly very good, it's not as good as that of the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. The Ford Fusion Hybrid might also have an edge. In the EPA's tests, the Hyundai... 2015 Hyundai Sonata Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The Hyundai Sonata SE earns EPA ratings of 25 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, while the Sport and Limited with their slightly grippier tires check in with 24/35. These scores aren't quite as high as those of the Mazda6 and Nissan Altima. If you want a 38 mpg highway rating,... Comparison vehicle: 2014 Ford Fusion |
2013 Sonata is a real winner 2013 Hyundai Sonata Pros and Cons Paul in NH I do a lot of rural driving and the MPG struggles to reach 22mpg. I really expected the mpg to be higher. |

2013 Hyundai Sonata Pros and Cons Member5949 The fuel economy is pretty good for a car of this size. I have averaged 36.5mpg (imperial gallon) over the last 37000km. 85% highway, 110km/h and little sitting in traffic. It gets very cold here sometimes so the mileage suffers. 2013 Hyundai Sonata SE Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh In fuel economy as well the 2013 Hyundai Sonata has lost an earlier lead. EPA ratings of 24 mpg city, 35 highway, impressive two years ago, can't match the 2014 Mazda6's 26/38 or the 2013 Altima's 27/38 today. The trip computer reported about 25 in my regular suburban driving, a... Comparison vehicle: 2014 Mazda Mazda6 |

Great, but skip the turbo if you drive in the city 2012 Hyundai Sonata Pros and Cons Member5294 Dreadful fuel economy. For long highway drives, the Sonata Turbo can indeed match the 34 mpg EPA rating, but for city driving with A/C, you'll be lucky to get any more than 17 mpg. Even with A/C off, the urban mileage never hits the 20 mpg level. Only 2,700 miles... |
2013 Hyundai Sonata Pros and Cons Member3077 With just over 1400 miles so far, it is averaging 28.3mpg combined with the eco option turned off. It has the eco drive option which works well in sustained at speed driving but lags in demanding driving situations. |
