Had a squealing belt and assumed it just needed a new belt. Rep at store asked if I had tried spraying squeaking component. I bought the belt and went home and sprayed everything down pretty good and waited to install the belt to see if that was the problem. Next day, same thing. I thought the belt might need more or less tension so at work I got out my socket set to adjust it. The daggone tensioner rod had snapped in half. I carefully drove it home and waited two days for the part to come in. Super easy install, it just takes time remove the screws that hold the fan and hose from the radiator to the overfill. The part, theoretically, is super easy to install.. you just have to fondle around getting the new rod into the new whatchamajigger thing that the rod screws into to keep it on track. If it wasn't pitch black outside using a headlamp, I could have save half an hour. |
