Jul 2018 987 mi	The driver door faux wood appliqué squeaked badly when driving. The door was removed, the appliqué was welded too deep and the heat stakes rubbed the door substrate which caused the noise. I let them silicone spray the bosses. I took pictures and sent an email to the assembly plant quality manager that this was a systemic issue present on two other grand cherokees at that dealership and described the assembly issue and steps to correct the noise. My email was reviewed by FCA headquarters Jeep Brand Manager and is now a standard all doors with appliqués get lubrication on the back of the heat stakes prior to install to stop squeaks.

Ticking audible when accelerating from a stop on an incline when drivetrain under load diagnosed by independent repair shop as failing drive shaft segment between transmission and transfer case. Despite my informing the dealer service departing maintenance manager of this, they decided to troubleshoot the issue without taking this into consideration. After keeping my vehicle at the dealership for 5 days, they called and informed me that they had been struggling to isolate where the noise was originating from but had come to a consensus that the front right spindle was failing and would need to be replaced. I explained to the service manager that this diagnosis was very likely incorrect by virtue of the fact that the right front spindle had already been replaced the week prior, and reiterated what the previous maintenance shop had concluded was causing the noise after 4 days of troubleshooting and fault tracing. I explained to him for the second time that it was the aforementioned driveshaft, which he finally accepted and communicated to the floor mechanic. Later he called and informed me that they had inspected that drive shaft segment and indeed found abnormal wear marks which explained the noise, confirmed the fault which was originally given to them, and that the drive shaft and related components would need to be replaced. He informed me that the repair was covered under the extended warranty, but the parts needed to be ordered from the national Mopar parts distribution center. He explained that the global supply chain issues were indeed being felt by their system as well, and that while the parts would be ordered that day, he expected at least a week and a half delay before they would be delivered to them. I authorized the repair and accepted the vehicle back into service with the understanding that they would contact me once the parts arrived to schedule the maintenance repairs needed. This occurred 3½ weeks ago, and despite my making no fewer than a dozen calls per week to inquire, these parts have still not arrived as of this writing.

Lots of steam coming from under hood at that point, but I replaced water pump myself in my driveway, and seemed fine, except I missed one step which is always top up the coolant after you circulate it to push air out of system.

This is noticeable on back country roads. The dealer claims that the torque converter needs 6,000 miles to break-in. Others have reported issues. The stereo amplifier failed. The radio worked but loud feedback came through the speakers. The problem was intermittent but diagnosed by the dealer.

Originally reported at 1700 miles. Rear Flipper Window Misalignment - Adhesive is coming off the brackets and the window became misaligned. The window closes against the rear pillar and has scratched the paint. It has also shifted the tailgate off-center. Driver Side View Mirror Blurry - I believe it came this way at delivery and I forgot to ask about it. The reflection always looked like double vision. You would see two sets of headlights in the rear view mirror. Diagnosis - Replace mirror Defective Key Fobik - One key Fobik stopped working. When inside the vehicle it would say "Damaged Key" on the EVIC. Diagnosis - Replace Key Fobik Front Tweeter Rattle - During uConnect calls the front tweeter would rattle. I asked them to look at the housing. Diagnosis - Front Tweeter but part is on back order. HVAC Blower Noise - Sounded like fins inside the fan were brushing against something. Diagnosis - Replace Blower Motor
Apr 2011 7000 mi	Blower motor was replaced due to fins inside the unit rubbing something. The the speaker was on backorder and this visit was to install it once it came in. The mirror was defective and was on backorder. When available it was replaced and is not acceptable. Replaced front axle isolators to reduce transmission vibration and downshift shudder. Problem not resolved and in some cases was made worse. This on-going shudder problem cannot seem to be fixed. The vehicle has been in the shop for 21 days now. They replaced the drivetrain control module. Chrysler determined it was the wrong module. Did not fix the problem. They replaced the rear flipper window that become unglued and misaligned. I was told that the shudder is now a normal characteristic of this vehicle.
