Dealer inspected the problem and said they would open a case with Mazda corporate. I haven't heard anything since, so I should probably follow up on that.

If it's view is obscured in any manner the rest of the safety features such as collision avoidance, smart braking, lane assist will no longer function. In section 4 page 148 of the owner's manual this is stated, but the sales people don't mention this during the buying process. So during a snowstorm, heavy rain, fog, morning dew or some bird poops on the windshield some of your "special" safety features of the technology package will not work, and Mazda doesn't consider this to be a defect. The 19 inch tires that come with the vehicle are suppose to be top end tires. After 2,500 Kms they are developing "flat" spots. Let the car sit over night and when you start out in the morning you have a thump, thump, thump for about 10 Kms until the tires warm up.

Rattle/vibration from left dash area above the steering column/left corner when driving on less than smooth pavement. Prominent when coming to rolling stop. Took car home after attempted fix from the dealership. Dealer removed left side speaker cover, road tested. noise still there. Removed the wiper and cowl and tested without cowl found noise is gone. Dealer put foam tape on all contact and put the cowl back and found noise gone. Put foam tape on cowl contact with windshield and road tested and found noise gone. Took the car home and the problem has not been resolved. Rattle and vibration is still occurring just as before the repair/correction. Will be returning the car for more diagnosis.

After a recall replaced the rear gas struts holding tailgate, the new parts began to make noise. Tech was able to lubricate something and claims noise is gone.

Monitored fuel trims - good.. Swap engine. No vacuum leaks found. Checked fuel pressure - good. Advised to try different source of fuel. Didn't work. Light has come back on.

But, my service advisor said differently: "Yes, these fail all the time. That's why we keep them in stock." Update: Mazda finally issued a recall for this issue in early 2020. After a brief visit to the dealership to inspect the previous repair, they reimbursed me the entire amount I paid for this repair in Sept 2018. The Mazda Customer Experience Center handled this entire situation with great professionalism and excellent customer service. Anyway, I was able to get Mazda to goodwill about $1400 of the $2500 total cost (parts, labor) of the repair. This took quite a bit of back-and-forth with their "Customer Experience Center." I do have to say that the person I worked with at Mazda was really helpful through the whole process. Also, I figured that if Mazda ever does initiate a recall, I will be reimbursed what I spent, and if they don't, I probably was never going to get as good of an offer as this one, anyway. My (new) DRLs are unplugged to prevent this happening again. I'd rather have functional DRLs that I can plug in if I need to than 2x $1000 paperweights on the front of my vehicle.

The lock still worked, just made a racket. The fabric on both front seats was fraying and coming apart. All fabric was replaced with OEM. Also one bottom foam cushion was replaced.

Aug 2012	Driver side mirror shakes above ~35 mph (rearview and passenger side mirror are solid). They inspected it and said there was no issue. It still shakes. Update: it stopped bothering me. Not sure if it went away or I just got used to it.

Aug 2013 16000 mi	Driver side seat cover ripped out again from left side. New one installed. This was 2nd repair for this same problem. Driver side mirror shake at HWY speeds ~50MPH and over. Per Service Manager, special bracket was installed to remedy this.
