Why the 2003 Mazda Protege5?

Brand reputation & image

It is not a re-badged Ford but rather a Japanese built Mazda.

Reliability & durability

I looked at reviews on Edmunds and Consumer Reports and the Protege5 got high marks.

Color choices

I wanted a blue similar to the Subaru World Rally Blue and the Laser Blue Metallic fit the bill beautifully.

Driving position & visibility

Fairly comfortable seat for not having an adjustable lumbar support, nice size rear window, no extreme blindspots, seat is easy to adjust.

Materials & workmanship

Very nice interior for a compact sedan. The black and blue seats have held up extremely well and the materials on the bezel and dash are very nice too.
