Why the 2003 Subaru Outback?

Fuel economy

It was better than that of an SUV or truck but still has AWD and cargo capacity. Not as good as other cars, but still beats most SUVS out there.

Reliability & durability

85k miles and only one minor repair with a spark plug wire shorted out. It starts every time with no issues first try. My prior vehicle had a few thousand in repairs by 70k miles, this car still seems almost new.

Brand reputation & image

Great reliable brand with many cars over 150k mile mark on the road today still. AWD is standard on all vehicles and Subaru seems to be about reliability and keeping Subaru customers Subaru customers.
