The 2013 is supposed to get a few more MPG's in the city and highway. Not really a big deal, but every bit helps. For a large vehicle with AWD, the Outback is unbeatable in MPG.
The 2012 has much better steering feel and road isolation compared to out 2011. The car drives much more true and is very pleasant to drive long distances.
