2007 4dr Sedan 126-horsepower 1.8L I4

We would have never got rid of the Corolla, but we had a baby and the rear facing car seat made the front seat occupants seat too far forward, close to the dash, to make the seat fit.The car seat made driving very uncomfortable see full Toyota Corolla review
2007 4dr Sedan 126-horsepower 1.8L I4

Front seat room was great, as long as the seats were able to be near the back of their travel. When we had to move the front seats forward for a car seat to fit in the back, it made it too uncomfortable see full Toyota Corolla review

The design of the front seats makes it difficult to get four normally proportioned adults into a car which looks like it would accomodate them. The bolstering in the back makes the five-seater only take four. see full Toyota Corolla review

The car could be a bit wider to better accommodate 3 people in the back seat. see full Toyota Corolla review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Powertrain of the 2006 Toyota Corolla

2006 Toyota Corolla Powertrain: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2006 4dr Sedan 126-horsepower 1.8L I4
5-speed manual FWD
I didn't buy this car for performance. see full Toyota Corolla review
2006 4dr Sedan 164-horsepower 1.8L I4
6-speed manual FWD
Although a sedan, it drives like a sports car (not an AC Cobra) with top notch handling and plenty of power. Even with my foot in it I get 27 MPG overall and mostly 30 MPG. Comfortable and lots of trunk room while having Toyota reliability. see full Toyota Corolla review
2005 4dr Sedan 130-horsepower 1.8L I4
5-speed manual FWD
Not very smooth, however it emphasizes driver comfort. I was able to learn stick very quickly on this car. Clutch releases toward the top, to minimize mistakes by driver. Gearing isnt strong, but powerband is very linear through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears. see full Toyota Corolla review
2005 4dr Sedan 130-horsepower 1.8L I4
4-speed automatic FWD
engine and transmission well matched, needs a bit of gas up the hill but is generally excellent for its intended purpose. see full Toyota Corolla review
2005 4dr Sedan 170-horsepower 1.8L I4
6-speed manual FWD
The XRS trim comes with a 170hp Celica GT-S Motor with VVTL-i. Surprizingly zippy and decent pick up for a small 1.8L motor. see full Toyota Corolla review

2005 4dr Sedan 130-horsepower 1.8L I4

It has a very small engine and is not fast at all. see full Toyota Corolla review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Tires of the 2006 Toyota Corolla

2006 Toyota Corolla Tires: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2007 4dr Sedan 126-horsepower 1.8L I4
4-speed automatic FWD
Shopping for tires for this car is not easy. Most of the tires you want are not as good quality with the stock wheel size, and for the most part, all the tires you can get are rock hard all season tires or useless low quality all season tires. Fortunately, there are lots of winter tire choices, and you will need them in winter if you have the automatic. The drive by wire throttle has a noticeable delay between when you barely touch the throttle and when the car decides to go, which makes getting going in bad weather very difficult. The unpredictable surge forward will always result in lots of wheelspin and not forward movement. You almost have to do a brake boost start, by holding the brakes with the left foot until the engine surge levels out. see full Toyota Corolla review
