The RAV4 has the best power/weight ratio in its class. Engine is smooth, with a wide power band. Ever feels wanting. Uses synthetic oil, so changes are at 10k mi intervals.
Compared to others in its class, expansion joints make their way into the cabin a bit more. Still, at the limit, it is very communicative and inspiring. Excellent chassis design, with very little roll or delay on turn-in.
Airbags everywhere. 2nd row curtains, with roll-over sensors. Standard VSC, TC, brake force distribution & a great chassis reduce the chances of accidents.
With the V6, the RAV4 tows 3500lbs, which is only slightly above average for this class. However, the transmission & engine will make it easy to do 3500. Interior cargo capacity is excellent as well.
