2009 Ford Focus Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by TimothyDike

Fuel economy
35 mpg will save $ in the long run.
Exterior styling
The 2 door has a sleek appearance and looks sporty compared to the ZX3 hatchback. The lower mounted taillights are more pleasing to the eye.
Front seat support & comfort
2 door is easy to get in and out of. The leather seating option makes for a comfortable ride especially for such a small car.
Powertrain performance
Power is not sacrificed for economy. Acceleration is quick and there is plenty of passing power. Transmission shifts smoothly, and has a positive feel for each gear. When accelerating hard, the car leaps from gear to gear.
Feature availability
You can get a lot of options usually only found on more upscale cars. Leather heated seats, Ford Sync with steering wheel mounted controls, great sound system.
Driving position & visibility
The rear vision is somewhat hampered by the high mounted trunk.
Rear seat room & comfort
Limited space for larger passengers.
Brand reputation & image
Early Focus models has some problems. The Focus seems to be marketed almost exclusily towards the younger crowd.
Insurance cost
Insurance is fine, but Fords seem to lose value faster than some other cars. This is not a problem if you keep your cars long term like I do.
