The Ford Focus, Gen2 is about the essentials: a no -frills grocery getter with added bonuses. 2010 Ford Focus Pros and Cons nasowas Looks very good. But it is not that important if you drive only 3000 miles per year. However, because it is a more comfortable car and a more fuel efficient car than our other vehicle it may get used for long distances now and then (if we actually buy one).... |

A Near-Perfect Jekyll and Hyde Daily Driver 2016 Ford Focus Pros and Cons MisterNoisy Fuel economy is as expected for a fairly powerful turbo car - my own experience is that you'll better the EPA estimates with conservative driving, but only barely. If you're having fun with the boost, expect that mileage to crater accordingly. That said, the fuel tank is almost hilariously small... |

2015 Volkwagen GTI Review plus TDI Preview Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh I've put fuel economy in the "why to buys" largely because of the TDI and e-Golf. The former delivers an unbeatable (for the price) combination of driving enjoyment and fuel efficiency. The EPA ratings, which tend to over-estimate diesels' real-world fuel economy, are up a smidge with the new engine,... Comparison vehicle: 2014 Ford Focus |
2014 Mazda3 s Grand Touring Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh Ever since gas guzzling rotary engines almost put Mazda out of business in the 1970s, fuel economy has been a company weakness. The 2013 Mazda3 with a 167-horsepower 2.5-liter engine and five-speed automatic transmission managed only 22 mpg city, 29 mpg highway in the EPA's tests. (The same engine with... 2012 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member5948 Decent fuel economy. Hitting over 30mpg and occasionaly above 35. |

2007 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member70 My average fuel economy is in the low 30s when I measure it manually, and an aftermarket trip computer reports 40+ mpg on the highway and mid-20s in town. |

2013 Dodge Dart GT Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The changes for the GT have changed a few areas from "why nots" to "whys." I also didn't mind the deep instrument panel and limited steering wheel adjustment as much this time around. In a back-to-back drive, the instrument panel on the Focus seemed even deeper than the Dart's. If... Comparison vehicle: 2014 Ford Focus |

Overall We're Happy with the ZX5 2007 Ford Focus Pros and Cons A member in Michigan, United States We consistently get 30-33 mpg on the road which puts it at the bottom of the barely acceptable IMHO. Still, that's better than most we looked at cars of that age. It has a small, but peppy engine that gives us all the power we're interested in. |

2007 Ford Focus ZX4 SES--My Experience 2007 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member5749 I have a 30 mile per direction commute to work, so fuel economy was of utmost importance. This car gets better than average fuel economy because it is very lightweight. However, I average around 32mpg highway (80% highway) and around 21mpg city (20% city). This is not... |

2013 Dodge Dart Limited 2.0 Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh With its standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and optional six-speed automatic transmission, the Dodge Dart earns EPA ratings of 24 mpg city, 34 highway. Recently redesigned or upgraded competitors, including the Ford Focus (27/38), Hyundai Elantra (28/38), Mazda3 (28/40), and Nissan Sentra (30/39) do at least a few mpg better. 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh Hyundai made the news a few months ago when it had to revise the EPA ratings for many of its cars. To their credit, they acted quickly, and are compensating previous buyers for the difference. Even with the downward revision, the Elantra GT is rated 26 mpg city (27... the Focus ST is a real do-it-all American car. 2013 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member5664 Have never managed to achieve the posted fuel economy average for this car (26), even with extremely careful driving,70% highway. Driving it hard nets only a few mpg worse than hypermile type driving. |

2007 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member5661 Car gets very respectable fuel economy. It is not a standout with todays new vehicles, but will hold its own. 100% city driving is usually met with a mpg average of approximately 28. This is good considering driving style is not suited for fuel mileage. On... |

2013 Ford Focus ST Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh Yes, the most impressive aspect of the Focus ST's engine is its fuel economy. A Mitsubishi Evo is rated 17 mpg city, 23 mpg highway by the EPA. A MazdaSpeed3, 18/25. The Ford Focus ST easily exceeds them both, with guilt-free EPA ratings of 23/32. Not that the engine's performance... Comparison vehicle: 2010 Mazda Mazda3 |

2008 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member5578 There are better and worse than the Focus, but the car does well with the 5-speed manual. I've seen 38 mpg on a tank of gas with lots of highway driving. |

2012 Ford Focus SE Sport Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh With a dual-clutch automated manual transmission, the Focus earns EPA ratings of 27 city, 37 highway. The five-speed manual knocks this down to 26 / 36. The trip computer reported low 30s in suburban driving with the AC on high. Comparison vehicle: 2012 Mazda Mazda3 |

2007 Ford Focus Pros and Cons st1100boy Mileage isn't that great for a car its size (28-30 mpg highway), but it's still pretty good in the scheme of things. Also helps that it works fine w/ 87 octane fuel. |
