2010 Hyundai Genesis Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by ptstanton

While the 2010 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 is a spectacular achievement at a very reasonable cost, and a joy to drive, some nagging reliability issues have made me leery of my purchase.. As with any mid-luxury vehicle, take my advice and alwasy purchase Certified Pre-owned, in order to obtain the best warranty coverage possible.
Exterior styling
understated, evocative of Mercedes..or some of the Bimmer sedans
Interior styling
pure function, everything where it should be..
Powertrain performance
V8 is a pocket rocket
Fuel economy
about average for a V8, nothing special
Handling
better than what you would expect from a Hyundai..Having owned Lexus in the past, much less floaty..its no Bimmer, but not bad at all
Quietness
cabin has nice isolation...with the moonroof open, though, the wind howls..they could improve this
Front seat support & comfort
almost Teutonic front seats
Controls and instruments
good stuff
Audio & nav systems
Audio (Lexicon) is top shelf, by far the best onboard audio system I have owned in my life..Nav looks snazzy, but tedious to operate
Reliability & durability
so far mixed.. purchased Certified Pre-Owned at 35,000; at 39,000 miles had the drivetrain assembly replaced, s front proximity sensor replaced, and moulding from the moonroof fell off..Long term reliability remains to be seen. Glad I have their warranty
great value, top shelf performance, great warranty
