We don't put all that many miles on our cars so it was something that we could more easily overlook, but if you've got a fairly long commute that isn't mostly on the highway, this might be a deal breaker. see full Dodge Journey review

On the highway, it gets right around 30, but in town driving suddenly drops to under 20. On the highway with cruise control have managed to get about 30 mpg. In a mix of city and highway it gets 23 mpg. In city only it gets 18 mpg. Again, for AWD not bad, but not great.
