5-speed automatic RWD		 This is a 6,200 pound vehicle that I need for my work. I need to haul long items and occassionally tow heavy trailers for work. 4-speed automatic RWD		 I know what it got. It is efficient for what it is. Compared to their smaller, less capable vehicles it gets "bad" mileage. However, for a 8K lbs truck with a non-aerodynamic design the average mileage of 13.5 (E10) is acceptable. see full Ford Excursion review
