need the electronic key replaced. Using an aftermarket key programmer since the dealer wanted $$$ for one key. There are issues that the guy is still working out. Update: the key works when the electronic boards are removed from the key housing and wrapped up with tape. I still need to get a replacement. However, it goes through batteries a bit quickly (like every two months). Not sure why, but at least it works.

40000 mi The dealer also replaced, at no charge, the AC/Heater blower motor under the dash panel. It was making a mildly annoying whistling noise at some speed settings, but we would not have taken the car in just for that.
66100 mi Squeaking/chirping noise in the A/C blower.
75000 mi

US $379
The theft protection alarm was going off intermittently. The dealer supposedly traced it to a front door contact switch that had an electrical fault. They replaced that $12.00 part for $366.00 in labor. However, it again went off at 4:20 a.m. some days later. As the problem has not occurred while the car has been in the shop, they are unable to determine the cause and fix it. I will have to disconnect the battery when I go on a two-week trip coming up. I may have to ask for a refund.
94000 mi

US $2100
Also the right low beam lamp.
95000 mi

US $1295
Air conditioner blowing hot air, previous trip had a/c recharged freon. I had the a/c compressor replaced
2000 mi Faulty Navigation CD. Replaced under warranty.
39000 mi Dropouts in Sirius Satelite radio audio for 15-60 seconds every three-five minutes. Dealer tried new antenna, new module, with no success. Sirius reset radio remotely and cleared problem. Air conditioning not cooling well. Found low refrigerant, but unable to locate leak. Topped off refrigerant with added dye. Return if problem recurs for UV leak test.
64200 mi Repaired leak in A/C system previously diagnosed but not found. Leak so small it took 10 months from previous service to affect operation. Replaced low side schrader valve.
47000 mi A/C failed to cool again several months after repair. Returned to dealer and this time the evaporator was replaced.
52600 mi When started, ran rough, only part of dashboard systems working, transmission locked in park. Cleared on restart.
53000 mi Same problem as previous trip. When started, only partial instrumentation and car locked in park. Cleared on restart. A/C not cooling properly. Diagnosed to defective condenser which was replaced. Vehicle continued to occasionally start with portions of instruments inoperative.
54300 mi Cruise control indication in instrument panel intermittent
64000 mi Stopped by Zimbrick European of Madison and service rep installed the headlight bulb for me that I purchased at their parts counter. I was not charged for any labor. Very satisfied with great service at Zimbrick European on my Mercedes.
9000 mi Navigation was taking us on ridiculous routes. Needed new disc and software. ALL early 2008 models seem to have this problem.
48000 mi Keyless Go handle stopped responding. New handle ordered but not installed.
49000 mi Keyless Go door handle replaced.
49000 mi Lower A/C hose replaced due to kink.
24000 mi CD Changer would not work. The door wouldn't open automatically and the CDs would not play. CD changer replaced. Damaged CD changer had to be sent to factory to retrieve CDs, but still no word yet.  Plastic protector for iPod auxillary cable came apart, exposing wires. Part was replaced with a new auxillary cable that plays and charges iPhone. Previous cable would play, but not charge the iPhone.
10000 mi Rear window power sunscreen not working. Dealer determined unit was stuck because of lack of use.
13000 mi Satellite radio reception problems - antenna replaced under warranty - found 2008 radios have technical problems with some channels at Sirius - my favorite channel is one.

Power trunk does not work when fully open - the "close trunk" buttons do not work. Have to manually push trunk down to 3/4 close then push the button to close trunk. Independent mechanic estimated cost to fix would be over $1000. Decided to live with problem for now.
