Saturn Reliability for the Year Ending June 30, 2018

General NotesHow do we select "competing car models"? Users of TrueDelta's car price comparison tool most often compare these cars to the Saturn.

Models and statistics marked with an asterisk (*) have very low sample sizes. These results, visible only to logged-in members, provide only a rough estimate of car reliability.

Any result under 5 repair trips per 100 cars is likely a result of the small sample size, and should be expected to increase in future updates.

New models often start out with high repair rates, and then improve as the manufacturer identifies and addresses common problems. MethodologyOnly successfully completed repairs are currently included in the analysis. Routine maintenance, most wear items, recalls, and problems fixed with just a reflash or warning light reset are not included.

6-speed shiftable automatic FWD		 At 80,000 miles, had to replace throttle body. At 112,000 miles, transmission complete failure. Replaced at dealership. Cost was $4000. At 115,000 miles, purge canister valve failure. Car would not start after putting gas in. Replaced for $30 (not by mechanic) At 116,000 miles, power steering failure. Replaced power steering pump for $135. At 116,000 miles, front struts need to be replaced. see full Saturn review
2008 4dr Sedan I believe it comes down to how well owners maintain their AURA. Get the niggly things taken care of by the dealer under warranty as soon as they pop up. Do routine maintenance and, overall, the AURA should do very well. After 5 years of AURA ownership, I feel more confident that the AURA will hold up equally as well as our 3 Hondas have over the past 30 years. see full Saturn review
