Dodge Reliability

You won't find Dodge reliability information like this anywhere else. Actual repair frequencies, not just vague dots. So you can tell how much the Dodge truly differs from competing car models in reliability.

These stats are promptly updated four times a year, to much more closely track Dodge reliability as the cars age. Others tell you how reliable the Dodge was a year ago, when the cars were a year younger and had 12,000 fewer miles on them. Only TrueDelta tells you how reliable the Dodge has been recently.

Dodge Reliability and Durability: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2014 4dr SUV 283-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
ThisJourney already has over 65K miles and I have notexperienced any mechanical or electrical issues. Compared tothe issues my coworkers have experienced with their Chevy Equinox with similar mileage, I can say that the Journey is a very reliable vehicle. see full Dodge review
2013 4dr Sedan turbocharged 160hp 1.4L I4
6-speed manual FWD
i'm at over 18,000 miles and drive in all kinds of weather and have yet to run in to one single problem. i change the oil every 5000 miles. interior is quiet and everything feels like quality. lots of soft touch, just a small amount of hard plastic. see full Dodge review
2012 4dr Sedan 173-horsepower 2.4L I4
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
I purchased this car new in 2011. Since that time I have driven it 18,000 miles. Have not had to return to dealer for any problems what so ever. It has been the most reliable Dodge product I have ever owned. see full Dodge review
2010 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 395-horsepower 5.7L V8
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
After talking to a lot of owners of different trucks, Dodge owners seem to have far less major problems. see full Dodge review
2010 4dr Minivan, ext. 197-horsepower 3.8L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
We are very pleased with the reliability. In over 100,000 miles we have spent $35 in repairs that are not normal "wear and tear" items like belts and bulbs. The interior had held up well to the hard use that kids, their friends and pets will put on a vehicle. We've even hauled feed for livestock and hay in it and you can't tell. The draw back is the vehicle has remote open doors and tailgate. Sometimes, completely at random, one of the doors or the tailgate will open. Other times we have come back to the vehicle to find a window half way down. This doesn't happen often, but enough in the 5 years we've owned it to double check while walking away. The safety on the doors and tailgate to keep them from closing on you has never worked well. You have to provide a good amount of resistance before the motor stops closing the door and starts to open it again. see full Dodge review
2009 4dr SUV 283-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
My past experience with Dodge cars and trucks. see full Dodge review
2009 4dr Minivan, ext. 197-horsepower 3.8L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Requires very little maintenance and routine maintenance much less expensive than the Toyota Sienna. see full Dodge review
2009 4dr SUV 283-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Dodge has made great strides in improving their quality and I feel with a life time power train warrenty backs that up. see full Dodge review
2009 4dr Minivan, ext. 283-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Rock solid reputation and came with lifetime warranty, should I need help in 15 or 20 years. see full Dodge review
2009 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed 395-horsepower 5.7L V8
5-speed shiftable automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range
Life time warranty. No problems yet with this one, but i have ran one over 200k. The truck treats you as good as you treat it. see full Dodge review
Dodge Reliability and Durability: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2016 4dr SUV 283-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
I worry about this. Had another competitor offered effectively the same vehicle I probably wouldn't have purchased this vehicle. Never owned a mopar previously but don't have the warm fuzzies about them after hearing family and friend's personal experiences with them and reading truedelta's and consumer report's ratings. Fingers crossed that since this vehicle has been materially unchanged since the 2011 refresh FCA has figured out how to put these together well. Fingers crossed. see full Dodge review
2013 4dr Sedan 370-horsepower 5.7L V8
8-speed shiftable automatic RWD
These cars (Charger Pursuit) do require a bit more attention than most retail cars, but they're half stock car, half taxi. see full Dodge review
2011 4dr Sedan 173-horsepower 2.4L I4
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
The car has been reliable as a whole, but there have been a few minor nuisances. Some insulation came loose and kept brushing against the door making a squeaking sound and the front passenger window occasionally makes a rubbing noise while being opened. see full Dodge review
2009 4dr SUV 283-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
1st year of production so there is no reliability and durability data see full Dodge review
2009 4dr Minivan, ext. 197-horsepower 3.8L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
SE vs. SXT. SXT Power doors and convenience electronics add more complexity and less reliability. Tranny gasket almost always leaked in the past. Previous to 2008 the pulleys had no shoulders so the belt fell off frequently - TG they changed that see full Dodge review
2009 4dr SUV 283-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
With 18000 kms on it the front end is starting to knock when I back out of the driveway, just like the 1999 Caravan with 185000 kms on it, tranny issues noted above, cargo area carpeting damages easily. see full Dodge review
2009 4dr Minivan, ext. 251-horsepower 4.0L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Very unreliable as one can tell. Again I paid for a vehicle that is unsafe to drive and in the shop more than on the road. Also, so many other issues that just keep happening one after another. I take care of my vehicles...yet this one is a sad case! see full Dodge review
2009 4dr Sedan I am beginning to read about some of the problems of the Chargers and there seems to be a number of them and they seem to be the same type of problems that Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep products have always been prone to... i.e. nothing changes! see full Dodge review
2009 4dr SUV 283-horsepower 3.6L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
it has not been a very reliable vehicle, a lot of issues with mine, and others have had the same issues and more see full Dodge review
2008 4dr Minivan, ext. 251-horsepower 4.0L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
They have a history of transmission failure that has not been addressed in the last 20 years. see full Dodge review
