21 year old man looking for a sedan with moderate gas mileage under 15k

The Right Car for Me | TrueDelta

zimmyzim

I'm looking for something fast but not a sports car. Not huge but please no turtles.

Ideally not a hatchback, something with an automatic transmission. I think nothing older than 2013/2014 for now.

Less important but nothing too feminine. The Mazda3 was at the top of my list for a while until I realized it was a girly car.

Will consider cars outside of my specifications (hatchbacks, manual) if they're really nice.

Priorities: Price or payments / Handling / Exterior styling

Preferred Bodystyle(s): Sedan / Coupe

Car Needs: Daily commuter / Errands about town / Client-facing / Fun toy

Primary Driver(s): Tall driver

Need minimum of 5 seats

Will consider both new and used cars
Maximum mileage: 30000
Maximum age: 3 years

Maximum price: US $ 15000

I can't say I've ever heard someone claim that the Mazda3 is only for women. I've heard this about the Miata, but it just doesn't make sense. MANY very male car enthusiasts drive both Mazdas. In fact, one reason I personally bought an alternative to the Miata is that it's such an obvious choice for anyone seeking a great small sports car. Sometimes it seems like I'm the only auto writer who hasn't owned a Miata. And many auto writers suggest the Mazda3 to anyone seeking a compact car, irrespective of their gender.

To anyone I'd suggest buying whatever you personally like, and ignore what some other people seem to think of the car. No auto writer I know thinks of cars in terms of owner stereotypes. They just don't have a basis in reality.

If you want a sedan that's quick, efficient, not pretty enough to risk claims from clueless people that it's a woman's car, and relatively inexpensive, I'd suggest a Volkswagen Jetta GLI.

I'd second the Jetta. VW's are good daily drivers because they do many things well, and the DSG transmissions make them fun. Manual is even better. If you find one with leather, you've got the luxury going. Put some nice tires on it to enhance performance and keep it quiet at the same time. I think a Jetta will fit a taller driver, but not sure. Look for cars with no sunroofs to get better headroom.

If the "girly car" thing really worries you, you can add some aftermarket bling to the VW. That usually says "guy" to me.

My second car is a Miata. I just laugh at the jokes a few men give me and enjoy my top-down drive.

Under $15,000 others have compared the Jett GLI to the Verano 2.0T and purchased the Buick. It ride is near Lexus LS quiet, offers features like heated steering wheel and front seats, and seats that are some of the most softest in the segment or segments above. Notice no mentions the Acura ILX the Verano has beat it in just about comparision.

Our Verano Premium 2.0T would see 37 mpg on multiple hour trips at 70 mph. It was super quiet at idle or at speeds faster than the speed limit. They hold their value well too!

Get the slightly larger Regal I'd you want AWD.
