I'm not very familiar with what is available in Australia. Here in the U.S. only the largest SUVs are rated to tow 8,000 lbs. If you mean metric tons, so 8,800 lbs., then the bar is even harder to clear.
Getting a three-year old large SUV for A $20,000 could be difficult. Any chance a Nissan Patrol will only run you this much?
