How serious are the off-roading and towing? Among true SUVs, the Toyota 4Runner is the most durable, while the Jeep Grand Cherokee is more stylsh and rides and handles better. The 2014 included a number of improvements, but has been glitchy. The 2015 could be better.

If you don't need serious off-road ability or heavy towing, the 2014 and up Subaru Forester or 2015 and up Subaru Outback could be a good fit.
