If you're doing much off-roading, the Santa Fe is probably out. Beyond this, it's not clear what your priorities are, so I'm not sure what to recommend. The Shogun is a very old design, but has a certain character. The Pathfinder is okay in many respects, but probably outstanding in none. A Toyota 4Runner performs well off-road and is among the most reliable vehicles you can buy, but it's optional third row is tight. With any of these true SUVs on-road handling is ponderous, the Nissan's perhaps least so.

What things are most likely to lead you to pick one over the others?
