Hi, im looking for a releable vechicle to go around town, hatch or sedan. Must be 4 door, fuel efficient, with nice interior and preferably exterior. I have looked at 2003-2004 Mazda3
2003 Opel Signum, Opel Astra
2004 Saab 9-3
2005 Honda Civic
2006 Ford Focus
The biggest concern for me is releability and rust, since i live in harsh climate. Thanks!

I'd rule out the Mazda because those older than 2009 are prone to rust.
The reliability of the Opels and the Saab are iffy at best.
The Focus might be reasonably reliable; I believe this generation of European Focus was related to the Mazda3, but should have better rust protection.
The Honda should be most reliable of the cars you've listed.

At this price point the previous owner(s) is more important than brand or model.
I'd like look at a Skoda Octavia or Fabia. You might be able to get a gen 2 (2004 on). I had a gen 1 2001 1.9 TDi estate back in the UK. It had a few electrically gremlins but only left me stranded once in 4 years and 80,000 miles
I don't know where to look for reliability data in Europe so can't comment on how this stacks up.
