Must have timing chain. Timing belt unacceptable. Bulletproof engine, and transmission. Four, or six cylinder turbocharged models preferred. Rear wheel drive unacceptable. Front wheel drive preferred, or all wheel drive acceptable. Looked at BMW 5 series, Mercedes E class, and Lexus GS. Still doing research.

Car Needs: Family transporter / Errands about town / Long trips

Need minimum of 7 seats

Thanks for all the replies. The 2013 to 2014 E Class Mercedes is on the top of my list right now. Will spend up to $47,000 depending on mileage. Yes not as reliable as the Lexus GS 350, nor as good a performer as the 5 Series BMW but the closest to ideal for me.The only reason I won't consider the Audi is too many oil consumption issues being reported in online research.
