Fun luxury coupe sporty car for Lexus Is250C replacement

The Right Car for Me | TrueDelta

quadgirl

I have had two Boxsters that spoiled me for braking and turns and performance handling, but I have loved the grown-up luxury feel of my 2010 Lexus is250 convertible. I would prefer a coupe. I also want a pretty blue color like the cobalt Boxsters or this blue Lexus. I love the look of the Accord coupe, but wish to have the most quiet ride possible. I am Gemini, so in the best world I would just have a sporty SUV, a sports car and a luxury ride, but I can't have it all so am looking for options. I like the look of the Lexus ric but can't afford those until used ones show up. Now, on the other hand, how impractical would that small SUV Macan Porsche be if I were to lease or wait a few years for them to be lower priced as used cars? I am a teacher and drive only about 7k miles a year. But I would sure love a combination of value and luxury feel if the accord would be an acceptable trade off. Please help if you can. I know I am not the typical car seeker, but I like to enjoy the experience of driving.

Priorities: Ride smoothness / Handling / Exterior styling

Car Needs: Daily commuter / Errands about town / Long trips

Need minimum of 2 seats

Will consider both new and used cars
Maximum mileage: 40000
Maximum age: 3 years

Maximum price: US $ 35000

How about an Audi A5 or S5? Room for 4 in a pinch, very sharp design, inside and out, comfortable, quiet.

Even a cabriolet version if you want a convertible, and particularly if you buy CPO (certified pre-owned), you get a great car and a great price and with the peace of mind of a great warranty.

On the coupe side, the Audi A5 suggested above is very attractive. An Infinti G37 / Q60 also looks good, is more reliable, and costs less. But I don't now if it has the ride you want.

On the crossover side, a couple of small upscale models are worth a look. The 2012-2015 BMW X1 is fun to drive, but might not have the styling or the dead-quiet ride you're looking for.The Infiniti EX/QX50 is cushier than the BMW, but doesn't handle as sharply. For 2016 they've raised it and extended the wheelbase, so it doesn't handle as sportily but has a roomier rear seat. Maybe those 1-3 years old will now be less expensive?

If, as you said, you're willing to consider used or CPO you really should consider the Volvo C70 T5. This model was discontinued in 2013 after a long model run. We had a long term rental back in 2012 and after a couple of weeks living with the C70 found it to be a most underappreciated vehicle.
It's not a race car and sports a mildly turbocharged 5 cylinder engine that Volvo has used for many years. Power is certainly adequate. Ride quality is excellent, seats are extremely comfortable, the car has a usable trunk, even with the top down AND you can actually put a couple of adults in the back seat for an evening out. The Platinum trim features an audio system designed by Bang & Olsen that needs to be heard to be appreciated. Our vehicle has a Nav system that is a little awkward by todays standards but we don't really have much use for it anyway so it was not important.
Another advantage to owning a T5 is that you won't look like everyone else on the road. Styling is elegant and practical. We looked at the Lexus is250C's and while a nice car it just didn't have the elegance and the practicality of the C70. We also looked at the BMW. I'm sad that Volvo discontinued it but we're pleased to be owners of the last of the line.
