Jaguar Ownership Long Term?

The Right Car for Me | TrueDelta

benck55

Hi guys, I'm considering the Jaguar F Pace for long term ownership. Will probably pull the trigger around December - March time frame or earlier. Currently on a lease but the wife wants to own now long term.

Did a search here in True Delta but nothing much on the reliability. I know based on research Jaguar has a reputation for poor reliability but now being owned by TATA Motors, reliability has much improved. As of March, JD Power VDS study, Jaguar is in the Top Ten (#10). Warranty is 5 yrs 60K miles. Test drove the car last month and fell in love with it.. :).

My second choice would be a CPO 2015 - 2017 and up Toaureg but after driving the F Pace, it's on my number 1 list. I'm good at maintenance, tools and scanners (even have VDS for VW/Audi) needed for car ownership. Third choice would be the 2017 Audi Allroad (nice test drive).

Test drove the new RX350 FS , its nice inside but really didn't float my boat driving dynamics wise.

Would like to know your opinions..

Regards,
Ben

Skip the Japanese , go for the German/Britsh! If you are handy and can search the respective car forum , I'd say go and drive the vehicle that'll want to drive with good dynamics.

Thank you Norm , will probably follow that direction. Not really afraid to own European makes. Been driving Japanese cars since I was a kid and want something different for a change.. :)

Ben

Near the top of those quality surveys constantly is the Buick models. The Envision is the closest to the F-Pace and most likely has a better interior based on reviews I've read. THough the Envision Premium ll retails similarly as the Jaguar around $50,000, we picked up a 3,000 miles used one with every major option for $35,000. You can't buy anything upscale for that price as even a bottom Rav4 or CR-V can total that amount.

Comparing driving specs in Consumer reports testing the handling is very similar with acceleration going to the Jaguar's offering a bigger engine option but braking going to the Buick.

One of those surveys shows the Buick having the most rewarding experience with their deakership. Well if the only thing new Buick owners go in for are free oil changes and coffee, who wouldn't be please with the ownership experience.
