A Lincoln MKX doesn't handle as well as the Cadillac, but should be more reliable.

The new Lincoln MKC drives very well, but is too new for your price limit.

Would the smaller Buick Encore be large and quick enough for you? They're compact and not very powerful, but owners really like them and report few problems. Worth a test drive.

Among Asian makes, the Infiniti EX should be very reliable, but is also very tight inside. Even more than with the small Buick this one depends on how much space you need.

The Volvo XC60 is another crossover my wife liked a lot. As with the Cadillac, though, reliability is iffy. Which isn't the same as awful. Probably about one repair trip every two years.
