Our 4runner died over the weekend. We need to replace it with a vehicle for my wife and kids to use daily. This will also be our weekend vehicle for family outings and may see a couple long trips per year. The ability to drive in the snow is desired so AWD is pretty high on my list of requirements, but it doesn't need to be the amazing offroader the 4runner was. Something safe, reliable (don't want major repairs in 3-5 yrs) and sized for a family of 4 with camping/kayaking/weekend light adventuring proclivities. So far I have looked at Rav4s, Muranos, CX-9s and the like but I'm just getting started. Thanks!

Chevy Silverado, 4 door truck, 4x4 would be my pick. I bought a new 2011 and have had zero problems. Two friends also own this truck and they have had zero problems. Engine is the 5.3 liter V8, 6 speed auto. Take one for a test drive and you will love everything about it!!!
