The redesign might be at dealers already, or soon will be. It's called the Discovery Sport. I haven't driven one yet. I have sat in one. Some bits of the interior seemed a little cheap, but it is their "most affordable" model. The exterior is much more stylish than the LR2's.
My sense is that JLR reliability has gotten better, but could still turn ugly after the end of the original four-year warranty. We don't have enough data on recent years to be sure of this.
