I like how the BMW X1 drives. If you don't need much rear seat or cargo space, it's more fun than any true SUV.

How much space do you need for people and stuff?

Some others to consider are the BMW 3-Series Grand Turismo (not a crossover, but with a higher seating position than a regular 3 and nearly as tall as the X1) and the Infiniti EX (similar in size and space to the X1).

Thanks for your responses.

Rocketfish43: I will expand my search to include the Lexus RX, both hybrid and non-hybrid.

Mkaresh: I also like the X1 drivability, but found it lacked rear seat leg room. The X3 was not as nimble to drive. Normally only need room for 2 adults, but occasionally 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 car seats for granddaughters. I will have to try the BMW 3 series GT.

Just finished paying off the 135i and like the fact that there is no monthly car payment. Repaired the valve cover gasket, replaced the battery, and got the A/C tuned up on the 4Runner and decided to keep it another year, then look again at replacing it.
