The Right Car for Me | TrueDelta

I really like the Honda Fit except for a small lack of power. Can anyone suggest something similar or larger, with a bit higher performance? I like the Fit's driving feel (it could be quieter, but no big deal) except for having to rev the engine so often. Doesn't need to be a race car, and the reliability of major components is still important.

The discontinued V6 RAV4 would be perfect if only everything about it was scaled down to be closer to the size of the Fit!

The Mazda3 is an excellent choice- versatile hatchback layout, standard 2.0L engine has more than sufficient power and it has fuel economy right up there with the Fit.]

The Kia Forte5 and Hyundai Elantra GT are also worth a look.

You didn't state this as a reason you like the Fit but I assume it's spacious interior / driving height is one of the reasons you like it.

The Kia Soul could fit you needs. Similar boxy styling to the fit but available with a 2.0 ltr 4 cylinder. Biggest let down is highway fuel economy due to the boxy shape.

The Ford C-max ( not the energi) is another good option. It's lively for a hybrid and more spacious than an fit.

If a manual is an option you look for a previous gen Hyundai Elanta touring. Avoid the slow automatic.

With limit of $16,000 you could buy a brand new Buick Encore. It will be better riding, quieter, offering a near-luxury experience in a small package than anything in the aegment. It offers about 48 cu ft of cargo but fold flat the front passenger's seat for 8 foot items or almost 60 cu ft of cargo space. And unlike the Fit or other sedans offers AWD.
