I don't really know if you're asking to buy a specific car or are only asking if Teslas are reliable. They aren't very reliable, but they have great service I've heard. There are so many gimmicky things on Teslas, so there are many more things to break. Fortunately the problems are mainly with the electronics and not the drive system or batteries. I'd recommend the Tesla anyways. It seems like people love them because they are everywhere where I live.

Tesla Model S

My father just got a new Model S (with the new nose). Based on the site's stats, he doesn't expect it to be as reliable as the Lexus LS it replaced. But it should be about as reliable as a German car in its first model year, and plenty of people buy (or at least lease) those.

Thank you LectroFuel. I am looking to buy. My sons tell me that anyone they know loves the car.

Thank you too, mkaresh. At least if I buy it like the German car buyers I will be doing less damage to the environment everytime I go to the service station. :) It is a lot of cash to lay out, but I really would like to support the technology.
