Honda has this feature I don't like called LaneWatch, which uses a camera on the right side mirror to give live video of what is in your blindspot. You have to look on the touchscreen rather than a simple light on the side mirror that tells you "YES" or "NO." I much prefer the lights on BOTH side of the car than a one sided camera. The Civic is a great car though.

The first car I would recommend is the 2017 VW Golf in the Wolfsberg trim. Standard features in this trim include heated side mirrors with turn signals, a panoramic sunroof (which helps A LOT with car sickness), rain sensing automatic windshield wipers, automatic headlights, 1 12V outlet in front and 1 in the rear seats, leatherette seats, partial power front seats both driver and passenger, cooled glovebox, bluetooth, backup camera, USB port, VW App-Connect, blind spot monitoring, rear AC vents, and automatic emergency braking. I drove a 2017 GTI and I thought it felt really solid. It's definitely more solid than all the other compact cars. All for $23500. That sounds like a good deal. The Golf has been mechanically reliable.

You could look at a Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, or Kia Optima, but those will not have as many features at the Golf's price.

There aren't many cheap cars that have rear seat vents.

If you want a luxurious feel, quiest, and smooth ride the 2017 Buick Envision.can be had for $26,XXX, discounted $10,000 from the $36,XXX MSRP. My Labrador Retriever loves the back seats of my Buick's as he passes out as soon as we start moving and he loves the rear seat vents blowing in his face. The Buick would be the most comfortable ride for the price.

The 2009+ LaCrosse offers a smooth ride and can be found for less than $20,000. It'll offer rear seat vents and a smooth, quiet, ride.

I have a 2017 Golf Wolfsburg & agree it could be a great choice for you, assuming that you have 1 or 2 children. It is like a Honda Fit on steroids!I speak from experience as my previous car was a2011 Fit.Both cars have great utility, are fuel efficient, and havelots of extra room in the hatch.TheGolfis way more comfortable andhas more get up & go -- is a really nice driver. Also the Wolfsburg version has a very nice suite of safety features. It is really well equipted for the price. Reliablity can't match the legendary reliablity of the Fit, but looks to be much better in recent years. After 8 months of owernship I am very pleased with the Golf. Hopefully will be able to say the same in 5 years.
