If you'll be owning the new car past its tenth birthday, it's hard to argue against a Toyota or Honda. They cost more as older cars, but there's a reason for this. The Aurion Presara is similar to the U.S. Toyota Camry V6, but in a more upscale trim.
The V6 standard in the Aurion won't be very economical. For that you'll want the related Camry with a four-cylinder engine. I wouldn't assume that the four-cylinder isn't powerful enough without test driving one.
Toyota also offers a Camry Hybrid. The battery packs in those sometimes need replacing around 250,000 km, but in many cases last longer than that.
