I forgot to write that the Miata is a fantastic car too. It's not the fastest (in fact, it's probably the slowest sports car), but it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. The Miata has a great manual transmission and handles great. I owned one 20 years ago and I really miss it. It's the most reliable sports car. The latest generation is also one of the best generations, which is something you couldn't have said about the previous one, which was way too heavy. It is available with tan leather which I think looks better than black.

Mazda just came out with the Miata RF, which is an MX-5 with a power retractable hardtop that only takes 13 seconds to put up and down. Of course in SoCal we don't need this hardtop as much as someone on the east coast, but it makes the cabin a little quieter and safer. Downside is that it adds weight. You can't get red brakes with any Miata, unless it's aftermarket.
