Cannot go wrong with a Subaru Outback Wagon. I've owned mine (new) since 2010 with 53K miles and no problems. Great in snow. Around town 21-23 mpg. Decided to go recently on a 600 mile trip and filled the tank with 93 octane gas. Normally use regular. Got over 36 mpg. One downside is the body panels. In-my-opinion, I think the metal is very thin and can be easily dented. Also, I don't feel the paint is as durable as other brands.

Need to double check the mpg on that subaru (36?).

I would recomend the Jeep Cherokee. I got anywhere from 22 to 27 with the V6 4x4. Very nice ride, pulls 4000lbs. Think I paid 37000 for the Trail ready version. pretty quick with the V6.

Yes. The actual mileage from my long trip, with 93 octane gas, was 36.1 mpg. The math is correct. Prior to this, using regular gas, the best mileage I got, on the same trip, was a little over 33 mpg. Drove at the speed limit in both cases.

There are a whole bunch of AWD cars and suv's that are safe and reliable, but only Buick will state out when you consider price.
