Dodge Grand Caravan - nice ride, gas a little noisy, black interior not impressive - no other choice, stow and go nice feature, back up camera good, plug-ins nice feature, warrenty 36 months or 3000 miles not good. Sedona, better warrenty, nice ride, better choice of colors, more expensive.

Preferred Bodystyle(s): Minivan

Car Needs: Errands about town / Long trips

Primary Driver(s): Senior driver

Need minimum of 7 seats

Will consider new cars only

Maximum price: C $ 28000

The Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna are the most reliable minivans, but are also much more expensive (as you probably realize).

How soon do you have to buy? Kia will have a redesigned, much improved Sedona in the fall. The current Sedona has been around a while, and in the past wasn't very reliable. We don't have reliability stats for recent model years because they haven't sold many.

I like how the Dodge rides and handles, but its interior does seem a bit dated.

I haven't had a chance to drive one myself yet, but the new Ford Transit Connect might be worth a look. It's narrower, but quite long in long wheelbase form, and also more agile. Reliability will probably be similar to that of the related Focus and Escape.

Mazda offers the Mazda5, but it's likely too small, the styling is odd, and fuel economy is just so-so.

I found a 2013 Dodge Caravan Crew Model with the extras like eight way power seats, back up camera and few extras and worked out a deal that cost me $20,300 + my old car. I could not wait as I needed to get hand controls moved over and get used lift I found put in the car. This is not my dream car but the price was right and it will do me for the next eight years I am sure. The power brakes, cruise control and power steering were things I really needed and were missing from my old van. Thanks for your suggestions.
