truck to pull my 6000 pound travel trailer

The Right Car for Me | TrueDelta

Need to upgrade my current truck, a 2008 Honda Ridgeline because I bought a larger travel trailer, weighs around 6500 pounds loaded.
Currently looking at a 2010 Toyota Tundra 5.8 2WD with 38000 miles for $21K and a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 4WD with a hemi V8 with 20000 miles for $27K.
What else should I look at? Only want a truck, no SUV. I will be the main driver, I work part-time locally so no commute.
Open to all suggestions (except selling the trailer, lol)

Priorities: Reliability & durability / Towing / Powertrain performance / Front seat support & comfort / Quietness

Preferred Bodystyle(s): Pickup

Car Needs: Errands about town / Towing or hauling

Will consider both new and used cars
Maximum mileage: 50000
Maximum age: 5 years

Maximum price: US $ 26000

You've narrowed it down to the two models that I would recommend. Of the two specific trucks you mention, the RAM would most likely be my pick because it is still under warranty! The 3-year/36k Limited Warranty AND 5-year/100k Powertrain Warranty are transferrable.

Any full-size pickup should be able to handle that much weight fairly easily. And any of them (with the possible exception of the Nissan) should be pretty reliable for years.

So what I'd do is drive them all and see which one you like best. Or can get the best deal on.

I looked at the Tundra, Ford, Chevy and Ram when I purchased two years ago. The Ram was the best, to me. I've got almost 30,000 miles and absolutely love this truck. Its quite, gets decent gas mileage and has been problem free. Oh yeah, and the hemi pulls like a fdreight train.

Bought a new Ram with hemi V-8. The incentives and rebates made it a better deal than used.
