Reliable, low-maintenance vehicle with good visibility for short, older driver

The Right Car for Me | TrueDelta

Member6689

Currently without a vehicle because previous car became a write-off courtesy of a drunk driver. Thankfully the car was unoccupied at the time. I am a 5 foot tall senior woman and will be the principal driver. I am most concerned with good visibility and low maintenance.

Priorities: Driving position & visibility / Reliability & durability / Warranty, maintenance cost

Preferred Bodystyle(s): Sedan / SUV

Car Needs: Errands about town

Primary Driver(s): Senior driver / Short driver

Need minimum of 5 seats

Will consider both new and used cars

I would reccomend the Corolla. The back seat is roomy, it gets great gas mileage and is super reliable. They seem to sell for less than the competition, at least in my area, and I've personally never had a problem with any Toyota that I've owned.

The Corolla is a good choice for visibility and low costs.

You don't specify a budget. If it extends to new cars, the Scion iA, also sold by Toyota dealers, could be a very good choice.

Among small SUVs, you might really like the Buick Encore. This one might make more sense to buy a year or two old, as it depreciates more rapidly than the other two.

The 2017 Buick Encore brand new for $16,xxx is the best deal going for sub-compact near luxury at a economy car price.
