Im looking for a reliablr used car that is quick and fun to drive.
Preferred Bodystyle(s): Sedan / Coupe / Hatch
Car Needs: Family transporter / Errands about town
Primary Driver(s): New driver

Will consider both new and used cars

Maximum age: 8 years

That's tough because quickness is basically inversely proportionate to reliability.
Here's my suggestion: an early '00's Lexus is300. I know it's older than your 8 years, but they're reliable have OK power stock. And if that's not enough, by dropping a few grand on turboing them or putting in turbo engine they become horsepower monsters that are still fairly reliable.
Is that along the lines of what you might be looking for?

I like the first-gen IS. Once cars are this old, though, even a Lexus will be considerably less reliable than a fairly new car.
The Infiniti G35 / G37 is more fun to drive than the Lexus, but still fairly reliable, and you should be able to get a considerably newer one for the same amount of money.
A first-generation Acura TSX is another strong possibility.
Let me know if you have any other criteria, and especially if you weren't necessarily looking for a car with an upscale brand.
Among mainstream brands, maybe a Honda Civic Si.
If you are a young driver, with any contender check what the insurance rates will be before buying.
