Premium Sedan for Office Commute

The Right Car for Me | TrueDelta

Member6635

I am currently looking at a 2010 Audi A8-L to be used as a daily commuter to my office (round trip about 40 miles from home) and to take clients from my office to other functions. This vehicle, however, has high mileage (over 150,000), but looks to be a one-owner that has been properly serviced throughout its life. I am looking at this point to purchase a nice, reliable, short-distance commuter (ie, the high mileage does not bother me that much as long as the vehicle will perform well and be reliable.
I would sincerely appreciate your input on the reliablility of these vehicles and / or your experience with these vehicles.
Thank-you!

Unfortunately not enough owners have participated for us to have reliability stats for these cars. In general a German car with this many miles will not be inexpensive to maintain, which is why they sell for so much less than when new.

You'll read, "There's nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes." Except perhaps a cheap Audi.

You could get lucky, and the car might end up requiring nothing. Even with the least reliable models in our survey 20-30 percent require no repairs in a given year. But it's definitely a gamble.

If the badge really doesn't matter (but it probably does) then a nearly new 2015 Hyundai Genesis (suggested above) is an outstanding and reliable luxury sedan for about $30,000.
