I have hip and back problems, so want something I step up into (not low) with good lumbar support that won't have me feeling every bump in the road. I need to be able to lay down in it, so folding rear seats that go flat are key. I need minimum of 5'9 from top of folded down head rest to rear of cargo area. Can't be a big angle on the seats when flat (like in ford explorers) or a big drop from rear seat to cargo floor (like rogue). So far, I have been able to squeeze into some models of tucson and sportage. But best have been sorrento and santa fe. Fuel efficiency is key, so it has me going towards things like the 3.5l v6 in the 2010 santa fe limited as it gets close mileage to the 4cylinder. But reliability worries me....
I've tried a few wagons - subaru outback and ford focus - but didn't like the handling. The tucson I drove (2011) was rough - unsure if needed mechanical work or if that's how they ride. Jeep compass was bad.
Sunroof and AWD are nice to have but not essential.
Thanks for helping...I know Im chasing a unicorn.
