Replacement car, Chrysler Van for my reliable caravan

The Right Car for Me | TrueDelta

Member6407

I want a Town and Country , Voyager or Caravan with the compass in roof, air, heat, CD Cassete probably 1996 to 2006. 3.3 Flexfuel would be desirable but I can do any of the engine types. I would be concerned with high miles on the four cylinder however. I'm replacing a '97 Caravan totaled by an uninsured motorist.

Preferred Bodystyle(s): Minivan

Car Needs: Daily commuter / Errands about town / Long trips

Need minimum of 6 seats

Will consider both new and used cars
Maximum mileage: 215000
Maximum age: 19 years

Maximum price: US $ 2400

I'd suggest widening the number of models you're searching for. What you want is a minivan that has been taken care of; that is for sale by its longtime owner (dealers will probably inflate the price past your budget); that has a meticulous description and has always been promptly repaired (with receipts to back that up); probably on Craigslist unless you know someone trustworthy getting rid of one. You may have to live with high milage, but meticulous previous ownership will be just as important for a $2k car anyway. The more models you're looking for, the greater the likelihood you'll find something good. Unless your local market is very large, it's probably worth also looking for at least Toyota Siennas, Honda Odysseys and Kia Sedonas as well just to give yourself more options. Those all have slightly better reliability than the Chrysler products anyway.
