Mazda 3 hatch is terrific, great fuel economy, handling.

You may wish to check out the Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen, TDi. Even better economy, terrific handling, great seats

I would go with either a Ford Focus or Mazda 3.

I'm a big fan of the Focus ST (review here). Its reliability stat is currently not good, but this is largely because they fitted an overly flexible motor mount to the cars initially. This won't affect more recently produced cars. And Ford will readily swap out the mount in earlier cars.

Check out both available seats. Many people prefer the base trim's seat, which I believe is the same as in the regular Focus.

The Mazda3 is a very good choice if you don't really need 200+ horsepower. Sadly, no manual yet with the 2.5.

Thank you!

I like the Mazda 3 & Ford Focus.

I currently drive the Fiesta & Ford has not really backed thier car to much wich makes me hesitant.

America has to get more cars with available manual trans, the auto stink!
