Hot Hatch? VW GTi? Focus RS? 4 doors necessary? If not...

Bigger sports car? Mustang, Camaro, Challenger/Charger?

I'm guessing the "fun" part is what you're really looking for? (Based on your handle and the title of your post!)

Manual or automatic transmission?

Any further quidance on what sort of car appeals to you?

My initial thoughts are a Honda Civic Si (or if you want something more adult or more luxurious or need an automatic) an Acura TSX. The 2004-2008 TSX is more fun to drive than the 2009-2014, but they're also getting up in age.

An Infiniti G37 is another possibility if you want more power.

Any reactions to these suggestions?

Buick Verano or a Buick Encore if you want AWD. The Verano is the quietest and smoothest sub compact available with 2.0T 260 horsepower and 6-speed manual transmission. Or if you need ulitiy the Ecore with AWD handles as good as a Mazda and get 40 mpg.

Also for ultimate handling and luxury in a small package is the Cadillac ATS 2.0T.
