I would say that probably 80% of SUVs that are rated to tow are rated to tow at least 3000 lbs. I recommend the 2017 Toyota Highlander the most. It has a great, smooth engine with 295 hp and an 8 speed transmission. It's rated to tow 5000 pounds in the non hybrid form (3500 in hybrid form), which is higher than the average midsize SUV. The Honda Pilot is a great one too. It's tow rating is 2000 for the FWD and 4500 for the 4WD. These are the more reliable ones, but the transmission in the Pilot is rough if you get the 9 speed auto. Also a Kia Sorento with the Turbo or the V6 would be a good choice.

How much comfort do you need? The Buick Enclave is creamy soft and smooth as we had in foe a rental. This will seat three people in the 3-row for a maximum of 8 and CPO vee sion are easily under $38,000 with 5,000 towing capacity.
