My top priority, by a wide margin, is growing the panel to a point where TrueDelta can provide solid reliability information on all popular models. This was a major reason I started this blog, because a few people suggested it would make the site more attractive to potential members.
And perhaps it has. But one thing remains clear: people who don’t come to the site looking for reliability information are unlikely to join the panel. We had an extreme case of this a couple of days ago. Slashdot posted a piece on the CNW “dust-to-dust” lifetime energy cost study that included a link to an entry in TrueDelta’s blog. As a result, we received 1,350 visitors. Not a single one of which appears to have joined the panel.
On the one hand, this is just more evidence that people visit web sites, quickly read whatever they came for, then move on. But not a single person out of 1,350? There must be something I can do. Perhaps a blurb at the end of each entry? Worth a shot. Other suggestions?
